Yellow Shoots Shares Stirring New Single 'Raven' via Wonderland Magazine

Greg Matthews (aka Yellow Shoots) has honed a masterful fusion of alternative soul and ambient electronic music that connects with the pain everyone feels when they want what they can't have in his new single "Raven." A stark contrast to the somber, misty grays and blues found in the Philly-bred/Brooklyn-based musician's previous release, "Stormy Weather," "Raven" accentuates Yellow Shoots' sprawling emotive palette.

‘Raven’ is about a virulent relationship…. a mix of sexual addiction, tension and pain. The main character wants what he can’t have and is ultimately being destroyed by endless pain and longing.

Increasingly active and involved in her music career, Latoya just released a brand new single today entitled "Free & Bold."

My soul and musical interests are a mix of colors and I wanted ‘Free and Bold’ to reflect that. Music is powerful, it was important to me to create something that soothes the soul and empowers the spirit.

First Generation Muslim-American Emcee Munch Aims To Break Down Stereotypes In New Video, Premiered By The RapFest

A first generation Muslim-American, young Detroit emcee Munch furthers his mission to use his music to challenge stereotypes of Muslims in America with his fun, new video for "Sriracha," from his sophomore solo album Beaches. "Sriracha" is the second video from the project behind the summer 2015 release of the video for "X Memories."

The video for ‘Sriracha’ depicts the everyday struggles of someone being held back from pursuing their dreams. The intro shows myself and Braaks working a dead end job that adds no motivation for creating music. As we get lost in a day dream of what we’d rather be doing, this relates back to the concept behind Beaches: a project that provides listeners with an escape from their everyday lives (just like going to the beach)... [it] really shows listeners the easy-going, fun-loving mentality I have as Munch.
— Munch

Michigan Newcomer Tay Rhodes Shares Sophomore EP 'Purple Heart' on Mass Appeal

Following up the release of his 2015 debut EP Kame House, young Kalamazoo, Michigan rapper/producer Tay Rhodes, returns with his sophomore EP 'Purple Heart.'

With confident flows and quick-strike punchlines, Tay bridges the gap between sharp lyricism and trap music, advancing from his previous project to a darker, more refined sound laced by fellow Michigan producers on 'Purple Heart,' which is a personal body of work that represents Tay's resilience through life's ups and downs.

The title ‘Purple Heart’ comes from me taking L’s in life but still ending up winning; kind of like a soldier who got hit in battle but still came out of the war.
